TEAM SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR 2010 SCALE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
1. The two Scale Masters Contests as well as the National Championships preceding the World Championships in question will constitute the qualifying competitions, i.e. the 2009 and 2010 Scale Masters and the 2009 Nationals for the 2010 World Championships.
2. The best two of the three results in the F4C class, normalised, will constitute the Final Qualifying Score. The normalisation base for all contests will be 1000. If, due to overseas entry deadlines a contest cannot be held in time, or a contest is cancelled, NASA may reduce the selection procedure to the best one out of two to count. A contestant thus always has one throw away score during the qualifying sequence.
3. The three contestants with the highest qualifying scores, i.e. the winner and the two highest scorers within 80% of the winning score will constitute the team, with the fourth the first reserve and the fifth the second and last reserve, providing that their final scores are also within 80% of the winning score.
4. In case of a tie for third place the average of the normalised static scores of the models used in the last qualifying round by the two contestants in question, will be the deciding factor.
5. The team will undertake to participate at the World Championships for which they qualified with the models that they used during the last qualification round. Any exception to this will be ratified by the NASA Executive Committee, which may require a full (Static and Flying) demonstration of the replacement model in front of a panel of qualified judges to determine its standard and serviceability. Any committee member with a conflict of interest will recuse himself from the decision making process.
